This pan fried quick paneer recipe takes just 15 minutes to make and is so delicious and healthy. This can be a quick appetizer or side dish or a filling, whichever way your heart desires.
Paneer or Indian cottage cheese used for this recipe is a non-aged, non melting soft cheese made by curdling milk with lemon juice or vinegar, and it is the most common form of cheese used in traditional Indian cuisines.
Paneer can be made at home if you have the time, always use full fat milk. Here is a recipe explaining how to make paneer.
Where can I buy Paneer?
You can get paneer at an Indian store, but always make sure that the paneer is of high quality. I typically go for organic, grass fed paneer simply because studies have shown that the nutritional profile of the milk is enhanced by pasture feeding, resulting in less inflammatory compounds.
Now I have never found milk or milk products in general very appealing, yes that includes ice cream! I know, shocker! The smell of milk puts me off, and my mother struggled to get me to drink milk when I was a kid, and I have so many funny stories as a kid to dispose them off without my mom knowing. Exceptions to this rule were curd and buttermilk, which I happen to like!
Cheese too, has a different story, I liked certain forms of cheese, paneer being one of them. And to my delight I found a few brands offered high quality organic, grass-fed paneer. I used the delicious, organic, grass-fed, paneer from Sach Foods for this recipe.

My favorite way to have this paneer is as a filling to a wrap since you can maximize the limited quantity of the cooked paneer. It also makes for an amazing pizza topping. On the subject of pizzas, have you checked out my recipe for Loaded Mediterranean Pizza yet?
